Optimal Seasons to Explore Nepal: Your Guide to the Best Time to Visit

Reading this article will make your trip to Nepal more enjoyable because here I will discuss the best time to visit Nepal. Apart from Everest, many other mountains in Nepal attract tourists a lot. If you are also interested in visiting Nepal, then it is important to know the best time to visit Nepal before going there. Nepal’s attractive landscape and natural beauty, including Everest, have long been the center of attraction for Nepalese tourists.

I have divided the times to visit Nepal into four categories, where the pros and cons of going to Nepal have been discussed.

Table of Contents

1st. From March to April

March to April is considered the best time because during this time, the weather in Nepal is dry and the sky is very clear. If you visit during this time, you will get a clear view of Nepal’s Himalayas and many other mountains. Also, there is no fear of landslides during this time. If you plan to go to Nepal during this period, you can visit all the sightseeing places.

2nd. The Monsoon Season – June to August

If you want to go to Nepal at this time, you may face some danger because it is the Indian subcontinental monsoon season. In Nepal, the rainy season starts in June and lasts until the end of August. Heavy rains during the monsoon make the hills wet and soft, causing many landslides. There is hardly a day without landslides during this time. Moreover, if it’s not raining, the days will be very hot.

3rd. After Moonsoon the Green Nepal – September to October

The weather during this period is similar to March to mid-May, but it feels a bit colder. If you are a nature lover and want to see everything green in the mountains and forests, this may be a good time for you.

During this time, you will be lucky to see all the mountains, including Everest, very closely. Additionally, if you want to travel to Nepal while riding a bike, then this is the best time for you.

4th. The Winter Season – November to February:

Both heat and cold are more extreme in hilly areas, and Nepal is famous for its various hills and mountains. Even the largest mountains in the world are located in Nepal and Tibet, with the highest peak being Everest in Nepal. And what about the cold? Nepal is famous for its cold weather. Winter brings chilly weather, but if you do not want to face the cold, then you can avoid visiting during this time.

Summary and My Preferable Time

Nepal is very dry between October and November, making it a good time for trekking with a good view. Even late February to mid-April is similar. However, some people visit Nepal in winter to see the mountains, despite the very cold weather, especially at night. But for those who are afraid of heights, it is not better to visit during this time. The days are very long during summer, but it is very hot in Nepal. Laughter all around. The bigger problem is that it rains a lot. There is a risk of many landslides. But if you want to do trekking or hiking, then this will be the ideal time for you because the day is very long, allowing for extensive trekking.

I prefer March to mid-May. The weather is neither too cold nor too hot, and the days are fairly long, allowing for trekking. The great thing about this time is that the sky is very clear, and the Himalayan mountains can be seen very clearly. So go and enjoy.
