I’ve always been drawn to Dudhsagar Waterfalls. Partly because of its scenery ( it gives you an illusion of milk falling from a goblet) and partly because it’s been featured in a Bollywood movie. Famous Shahrukh Khan and Deepika’s Chennai Express was filmed here, fascinating right?
Dudhsagar Waterfall is located at “Bhagwan Mahavir National Park/ Wildlife Sanctuary”. You will not only enjoy a waterlog while there. Instead, you can enjoy the wildlife. You will forget whether you are going to see a waterfall or a jungle safari.
So, today let’s deep dive into Dudhsagar Waterfall: where it’s situated, how to get there, parking options, and all the other details that you need to know.
Where is this beautiful waterfall?
Dudhsagar Waterfall is located in the smallest state of India. That is Goa. It is closest to Karnataka.
You can visit various beaches in Guaa starting from Dudhsagar Waterfall. Or you can also visit Karnataka if you wish.
But in my experience, I’ve seen two types of people, one, are those who want to enjoy the scenic beauty of the waterfall from the train. Inspiring from the Chennai Express Movie. It’s perfect for taking pictures and making reels.
Two, are those who want to experience it. want to deep dive into the waterfall water.
Can I see Dudhsagar Waterfall by train?
Yeah, you can clearly see the Dudhsagar Waterfall from the train. Kulem and Castle Rock are two stations on either side of Dudhsagar Waterfall. Most of the time the trains are slow there. You can easily see a beautiful view if you sit by the window or stand at the door of the train. I do not recommend standing at the train door. It is risky. But be careful, if the train stops or slows down, no one gets off. Landing there is illegal.
How to reach the natural pool of that waterfall?
There are several ways to get there. You can go by jeep. Again you can go trekking. In that case, you will first come to the Kulem taxi stand. From there you will go to the counter. Where you will get the Jeep to the waterfall, try to leave in the morning. The jeeps start leaving at 8 am. And if you want to avoid the fear, you can book tickets online.

I didn’t like one rule there. After you reach the waterfall, the jeep driver will give you only one hour and thirty minutes to stay at the waterfall. I haven’t had enough of it in such a short time. Wanted to dip in the cold water for a while longer. But nothing to do will leave the jeep. I left from there. And I came to be impressed by the unique beauty of the forest.
Why should you go trekking?
If you go trekking then you can enjoy the wildlife better. You can experience a mixture of fear and joy in the forest. You can stay in the water for as long as you want. It will take you 5 to 7 hours to reach the waterfall. It depends on you. If you are used to trekking and your body is strong then you can reach very easily. But I think trekking there requires more mental strength than physical strength. If you want to see the waterfall up close during the monsoons, there is no other way to see it without trekking. Because jeep movement is stopped during monsoon.
You have to be careful about your time while trekking. Because you have to come out of the forest before evening. There is a fear of wild animals after dusk. Your life is in danger.
Have a good waterfall journey. Bye Bye.
