09. Hogenakkal Waterfalls, Tamil Nadu

Hogenakkal Falls is the most beautiful in Tamil Nadu. This amazing series of waterfalls located on the famous Kaveri River in the Dharmpuri district is a sight to watch. The waterfalls in a circle and finally hits the small pool in the middle that is surrounded by some of the oldest carbonate rocks. This waterfall is a major tourist attraction in the state and is immensely famed for boat rides and medicinal baths. And yes, you cannot go there by road. You’ll have to take bamboo boats which are called Caracles to reach the falls which only adds thrill to the experience.

07. Elephant Falls, Shillong

Elephant Falls is one of the best and busiest spots in Shillong. These falls are named after the elephant-shaped rock near them. The elephant falls are divided into three phases. All these phases can be seen from three different vantage points. The first part is comparatively border and is tucked between dense trees, The second part gets narrow and finally, the last one is the tallest of all and worth seeing. 05. Chitrakoot Falls, Chhattisgarh

Chitrakoot Falls is located in the Bastar district of Chhattisgarh, Chitrakoot falls is a spectacular natural beauty. It falls from a height of 95 ft and is almost as wide as 985 ft. Which makes it the widest waterfall in India. And therefore, It’s called Niagra Falls of India. It falls in Odisha, enters Andhra Pradesh, and finally merges with the Godavari River. This waterfall looks so dreamy that you won’t take your eyes off it. Also, on the left bank of the fall, a very famous Hindu shrine of Lord Shiva is located. 

To have a real adventure in Chitrakoot Waterfalls, you must take a boat ride. The boat will take you right next to the waterfall where the water falls from the top. If you are an adventure lover then I would say don’t miss it.

04. Athrappilly Waterfalls, Kerala

Athirappilly is the largest and most stunning waterfall of God’s own country, Kerala. This breathtaking beautiful fall is located on the Chalakudy River in the district of Kerala. This 80-foot-high waterfall has a width of 330 feet. The view of majestic Athirappilly Falls in the scenic background of dense, green rainforest is something you can’t miss.

If you can go down in front of the waterfall then you can fully enjoy the waterfall. The water from above will fall on the rocks and form like mist and will soak you. There is a different serenity. If you are on a budget I would recommend – a day stay at a resort with a waterfall view. you will love it.

03. Dhuandhaar Waterfalls, Madhya Pradesh

Dhuandhaar Falla is a scenic waterfall on the holy Narmada River in Jabalpur District of Madhya Pradesh. Dhuadhaar Falls is also known as ‘Smoke Cascade’ Because the waterfall of Dhuandhaar Falls creates mist while falling down. And it will definitely be a great treat for your eyes. Apart from this fall, tourists come here for one more reason, just to see the huge marble rocks in the entire area to enjoy the waterfall in its entirety, you should either take a boat ride or ride on Dhuandhaar Ropeway. 

You must take a Dhuandhaar Ropeway ride. From there you can enjoy the aerial view of the entire Marble Rock.

02. Dudhsagar Waterfalls, Goa

Dudhsagar Waterfalls is located in Goa and Karnataka, Dudhsagat waterfalls flow from a height of roughly 120 feet making it the 6th highest waterfall in the country. This Konkani name ‘Dudhsagar’ means an Ocean of Milk and as the name suggests it gives you an illusion of milk falling from a goblet. You can view the base of the Dudhsagar Falls via train, by a jeep, or if you’re feeling adventurous enough, by a trek also. So when you’re in Goa, there’s no way you should miss the gorgeous attraction.

I recommend you to go to Dudsagar Falls via Jeep or by trekking. If you take a Jeep from the Kulem taxi stand. The jeeps start leaving at 8 am. The road from Kulem to Dudhsagar is entirely under the forest department. Road through the forest. Somewhere you can see knee-deep water on the road. The jeeps are running on it. This road journey will be memorable for you. I promise. Please take light food and water. Jeeps are closed on this route during monsoons. At that time you can see the Dudhsagar Water Falls only by trekking. And the jeep will give you only one and a half hours to go down to the waterfall and take a dip. I didn’t like it. And if you come trekking then you can stay as long as you want.

01. Nohkalikai Waterfalls, Meghalaya

The last and the best one is the Nohkalikai waterfalls of Meghalaya. It’s the fourth highest in the world and the tallest in India.  Which dropped from a height of 1100 feet in the wettest place on earth called ‘Cherrapunji’. Falling on the green slopes, this heavenly beautiful waterfall will surely give you the best views.
